Kicks off the 7th edition of the Salone del Gusto, a fascinating journey to the roots of food, from earth to plate. The event, organized every two years at Lingotto by Slow Food, the Piedmont Region and the Municipality of Turin, is today one of the major events of the food and wine sector at international level. Everything revolves around food, to respect, protect and enhance. Hence the attention to issues such as biodiversity and nutrition education. The Salone del Gusto is not proud of eating well, but a place to learn how to choose a food product knowing the history, impact on consumer health and the environment, the important role of manufacturer to give the right value to food. The event involves cooks, winemakers, restaurateurs, journalists and experts and conquer always more faithful and admirers.
In conjunction with the Salone del Gusto, held the third edition of "Mother Earth", the international meeting of food communities, for the first time together in a single event. Terra Madre 1678 will host food communities from 153 nations made up of 3587 farmers, breeders, fishermen and artisan producers dell'agroalimentare, 818 cooks, 265 academics and representatives of research institutes, 869 students, 216 musicians, 712 observers, technical and institutions. There are three key words of the event: good, clean and fair.
Visitors along the routes of taste, in a trip where you buy and eat and know new tastes. A maze of trails cross the market, beating heart of the exhibition with its stalls and its booth is the opportunity to dive into a world of products to discover and rediscover. A journey to the roots of food across continents to discover the flavors of Italy, Great Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Japan, Argentina, Mexico, United States, Philippines, Norway, Holland, Brazil, Guatemala, Slovakia, Poland, Colombia, Caribbean, Australia and other states yet.
Among the most interesting initiatives is the "Banca del Vino" which tells the story of Italian wine on the immediate post-war: a journey, of course, glass in hand, drawn from South Tyrol to Pantelleria, having the greatest variety of Italian wines and becoming almost a topography of the Italian wine scene, thanks to the contribution of 300 companies, among the best in the national scene.
