The annual event remembers the event of fire of the old village of Camerata Vecchia happened on 9 January 1859. Tradition has it that to fire the country has been a fire propagatosi from a house where some people were to roast the mutton chop. At the center of the main square of this charming country Lazio (Piazza Roma) will be lit a bonfire on which the chop is cooked, which will then be sold to participants at the festival. The event which will start at 12.30 also provides for the distribution of a complete meal (first, chop, contour, and sweet wine) enhanced by live music.
In case of bad weather the event will be held indoors.
The Festival of the chop is celebrating its 51st edition.
